For long time subscribers, you may remember we spent a week visiting friends here last year. At the bottom is a link to the post that covers that visit. This year was totally different. We were healthy and ready to immerse ourselves in the activities available.
After leaving Boulder City, we made a short stop to see the London Bridge at Lake Havasu. This is the real London Bridge that was built in the 1830s and once spanned the River Thames in London. In 1968, the bridge was purchased by Robert McCulloch. He had the exterior granite blocks from the original bridge cut and transported to the United States for use in the construction of a new bridge in Lake Havasu City. The whole thing is weird but worth seeing.
Once we arrived in Apache Junction, it was literally “game on.” The besties, Kismet and Tibby were reunited. They had not seen each other since before we left on our October RV trip and Tibby headed to Arizona. But they didn’t miss a beat.
As for us humans, we were about to spend two weeks playing pickleball, table tennis, billiards, and card games in the evening. Time with friends-Priceless. It was absolutely wonderful!!!
Ahhhh, AJ! I ran the Lost Dutchman marathon there some years back, starting in the park. Did you get a chance to explore there?
That IS so weird, but I feel like that should go on a to-see list 😂
